Sunday Breakdown 7.5.09

We started our new series this week, Jump! This week was Jump! into the vision. I am so exited to see what God is going to do through this series in the life of Life Church! You can check out the Church Blog for some more details about the series and about this week’s message.

Overall, I think this week was the best sound quality we have had in a long time. We’ve had some issues, but I think they are starting to get better!

To start the service this week, I had to stretch myself a little bit. My dad’s name is David Lee Perry, but I had to be like another David Lee…David Lee Roth!! Yes, we covered a Van Halen tune (not Van Hagar, haha)! We opened up with “Jump” to tie into the series. We’ll definitely be doing this song throughout the series.

So, here’s the setlist…

Jump (Van Halen) – You gotta love some 80’s rock! This was such a fun song to play, I look forward to playing it some more over the next several weeks!

Sing, Sing, Sing (Chris Tomlin) – This song continues to really connect with our church!

We Have Overcome (Elevation Worship) – We were originally going to do this as a medley with “Sing, Sing, Sing” but decided to separate them before the service. Just seemed like they would work better separate this week.

God Of This City (Chris Tomlin) – We sandwiched Jason’s message with this song. In light of the message, “Jump! into the vision” this song was really a challenge and a declaration for us as we choose to jump into the vision for Rome, and to know that God is the God of Rome!

-Jason’s Message-

God Of This City (Chris Tomlin) – See Above!

Broadcast (Fee) – A great “sending out” song for the vision! “We’re gonna broadcast all over the world/that You are God and You are good!”

Well, that was our set…what song is stuck in your head right now?

By the way, this post is part of the “Sunday Setlist” blog carnival over at
