Sunday Breakdown 6.14.09

What a great day! Not only was it a good day at Life Church, but Mandy and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary! I can honestly say I love her more and more everyday! I am truly blessed to have such an amazing wife!

At Life Church, we had Jimmy Carroll with us. He continued in our Transformers series with a message on “Control”. He did a GREAT job! Jimmy is the lead pastor of Journey Church in Raleigh, NC. Jimmy and his Creative Arts Pastor, Paul Callaghan, were with us for the entire weekend, helping consult with us on some of the next steps Life Church is getting ready to take. Buckle up, Life Church is about to take off. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us!

Our setlist this week went over very well! Life Church was definitely singing her heart out! This was our setlist…

We Stand (Lee McDerment) – I am on a huge Lee McDerment kick right now. I can’t get enough of his stuff. We’ll continue to do more of his tunes in the near future. I love “We Stand”, and even though this was only the 2nd time we’ve done it, wow, people really sang along and connected with it!

God Is With Us (Michael Olson) – Such a great song, “We are covered/in the love of Jesus/God is with us/Amen”.

We Are Alive (Elevation Worship) – It had been a while since we had done this song, but you would have never known. Everybody jumped right back into it like we sing it every week!

Let Me Sing (Todd Fields) – By far, one of my all-time favorite songs. If you’ve never heard it, go listen to it now! This was a perfect song leading into the message about “Control”. God, “Let Me Sing”, take control of my life, it’s yours!

-Jimmy’s Message-

Take My Life (Chris Tomlin/Passion) – This is the classic hymn, slightly updated with a KILLER chorus added in! I love the way the band puts a bit of a Southern Rock spin on it (we seem to do that with a lot of our tunes, hmmmm).

We Shine (Fee) – “We are the redeemed/we are the ones who are free/we belong to Jesus/We are now alive/and in this world we will shine/we belong to Jesus!”

So, there you go. What is your favorite worship song right now? Leave a comment, let’s talk about it…

By the way, this post is part of the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival over at Go check it out.
