Sunday Breakdown (on Wednesday) 12.7.08

Hey guys and ladies…blogging has been a bit sparse this week and will probably continue to be for a couple of days. Long story short, got a lot going on and blogging takes a back seat.

Here’s the set list from this past week. We had a stripped down acoustic set that was really fun. We got to try out Abel’s new Cajon which was way cool. I was unsure how it was going to sound, but man, after we put the mics on it, it sounded AWESOME!

Instrumentation was:

Me-Acoustic Guitar and lead/background vocals

BJ-Acoustic Guitar

Matt-Cajon

Christy-Background and Lead Vocals

Here’s the set list…

All Because of Jesus (Steve Fee) – I really liked doing this acoustically, it had a neat groove to it

God Is With Us (Michael Olson) – One of my favorite songs right now, also had a neat groove going acoustic.

Joy To The World (Third Day version) – I LOVE this version of the classic song. I thought it went over very well.

You Are God Alone (Billy & Cindy Foote) – Christy had lead vocals on this song. She knocked it out of the park.

-Gary’s message (Gary Graves preached for us this week)

Take My Life (Chris Tomlin version) – Fits perfect for an acoustic set.

One Way (Hillsong) – I didn’t really like this one as an acoustic tune…it worked out ok during rehearsal, but didn’t have the energy live that we needed. You live and learn, right?

What was your favorite song from Sunday?

Josh
