Sunday Breakdown (on Monday) 11.30.08

This Sunday was a very special day. This was Abel’s last Sunday to be us before he leaves for Afghanistan at the beginning of January, so we set it up for him to lead us in worship. It’s been so neat to see his heart and his willingness to plug in and help out however he can. I really enjoyed seeing him lead and being able to worship under him. It was also nice to just have a morning of not having to lead. In the 8 1/2 months since we launched, this was only the 2nd time I’ve not led worship. It was definitely a welcomed break.

We still had some sound system issues, but overall it was a good service. Here’s the set list…

My Glorious (Chris Tomlin) – This is one that Abel has led several times. I really enjoy this song and the way Abel does it.

Beautiful One (Tim Hughes) – It’s funny how quickly songs become dated. I love this song, but it already feels kind of old, you know? Worship music is like computers, within 6 months you’re outdated.

God Of This City (Chris Tomlin Version) – Definitely in my top 5 songs right now. I pray this song over Rome and Floyd county daily!

Sing To The King (Billy Foote/Passion Version) – Great tie in to Jason’s message, “Jesus, The King”

It Is You (Newsboys) – Another “oldie but goodie”. I used to do this song a lot, but to be honest I had almost forgotten about it. It was nice to hear it and worship with it again.

-Jason’s Message-

Amazing Love (Billy Foote) – Once again, another “oldie but goodie”. To me, this is a timeless classic. It was a perfect response time coming out of Jason’s message.

Give You Glory (Jeremy Camp) – This is a great “sending out” song. It’s one of those that just sticks in your head for the rest of the day.

Abel did a great job leading us. I’m gonna miss that dude while he’s gone. Be praying for him!

As I ask every week, what was your favorite song from Church this Sunday??
