I’m caught up!

I hate it I was soooo behind on the blog. I hope and pray that I can do a much better job about keeping things up to date and fresh!

Sunday was week #2 of our “One Month To Live” series. What an AWESOME morning. It is so amazing to see God at work! There were at least 5 people who made decisions to follow Jesus! All of the blood, sweat, and tears throughout the week leading up to Sunday mornings are all for this very purpose! I count it such an honor and a privilege to be able to stand on stage every week and worship God and encourage others to do the same!

So, here was the set list…

Meant To Live (Switchfoot)

God Is Alive (Fee)

God Is With Us (Michael Olson)

Let Me Sing (Todd Fields)

–Jason’s Message–

He Love Us (John Mark McMillan)

Rise and Sing (Fee)

So, that was the setlist…I ask it a lot, but which one of these is YOUR favorite?

Josh

Ummm, wow. So, these guys are known as Pomplamoose. They record all of this in their apartment and at some point in the video, you see every recording track (i.e. – if one of them is playing a guitar, you see them playing a guitar, if one of them is singing, you see them singing, etc.). I’ve seen several of their videos before and love their music, but I figured since we’re a couple of days from Christmas, I would share this AWESOME version of the classic Christmas carol, “O Come All Ye Faithful”

Enjoy…

What’d you think?

Wow, what a week. This was definitely Murphy’s week. If it could go wrong, it definitely seemed to! A lot of obstacles to overcome, but in the end, they were overcome and God was glorified!

This week, was week 2 of “Names”. Jason continued the series by talking about the name “Emmanuel”, God Is With Us! What great comfort and peace to know that through Christ, God is now WITH us!

Well, obviously, we wanted to tie-in the music as much as possible, so you’ll see the setlist tries to continue the them of “Emmanuel: God Is With Us”. Here it is…

Not To Us/Here is Our King (North Point Version)

God Is With Us (Michael Olson)

Song of Hope (Robbie Seay Band)

O Little Town of Bethlehem (our own arrangement)

–Jason’s Message–

Son of God (Starfield)

–Offering–

Rise and Sing (Fee)

Well, that was our setlist. How have you felt “God With You” during this Christmas season?

Well, apparently, the blogging thing has taken a backseat for a while. I’ve noticed all of my online activity has been slumping as of late. Hopefully with the new year around the corner, I’ll pick back up!

The 13th was the first Sunday in our “Names” series. Jason spoke about the name of “Jesus” and the relevance and power it has and so often we minimize that power with the commonality of it!

The set list was great, we introduced a new song, “Go Tell It”, and it went over VERY well. This will definitely become a Life Church standard! So here’s the set list…

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree (MercyMe Version)

Joy To The World (Third Day Version)

Salvation Is Here (Hillsong)

O Come All Ye Faithful (Third Day Version)

–Jason’s Message–

Go Tell It (Lee McDerment)

–Offering–

Not To Us/Here Is Our King (North Point Version)

That was our setlist!

Sunday Breakdown 12.6.09

Sunday was our first “official” day in the Life Church Building. The transition of the building was finally complete. XL (the church that we had been sharing the facility with) moved all of their equipment out on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of last week, leaving us Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to install ALL of our equipment and have it fully operational! To say that we had a lot to do would be a HUGE understatement. I actually ended up taking 2 days off from work just so I could make sure we had everything ready. On top of that, we ended up working through the night Saturday night! Murphy’s law came out in full effect as the night wore on! It seemed like if something could go wrong, it did…BUT, God is God and everything worked out in the end. So, I ended up coming home from the church at 6:30 Sunday morning, took a shower, got my guitars, and went right back to the church. I was definitely running on the power of God alone by the time our service started (I had been up for 27 hours!).

It’s crazy…with all that led up to it, this was one of the best weeks we’ve had in a LONG time! Sunday was our “Dominate” Sunday and God was amazing in the way he showed up and changed lives!

So, here was our set…

We Won’t Be Quiet (David Crowder Band) – This is such a fun song to play, and it really helped set the tone for the morning. There was such a neat atmosphere there and this song really helped focus it in and foster it even deeper!

Uncontainable (Lee McDerment) – I’ve said it before…I LOVE Lee McDerment’s stuff. It’s rare that worship music has such power and ummfff to it! I love being able to just “rock it out” with songs like this!

Send Me Out (Fee) – The whole “Hope Rising” album is incredible, but this song has jumped out as one of my favorites. Again, such a powerful message in conjunction with the message and theme of this morning!

God Of This City (Bluetree/Tomlin Version) – As we talked on “Dominate Rome”, this song helped set the stage that God is the God of Rome and “greater things are still to be done in this city”! God is using and is going to continue to use Life Church in HUGE ways to Dominate Rome with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

–Jason’s Message–

God Of This City (We sandwiched the message with this song because of the theme of the morning and the challenge of what we were doing.)

–Offering–

Kingdom (Kristian Stanfill) – ummm, WOW. We’ve done this song several times over the past year or so, but NEVER has it gone over as well and held as much power as it did Sunday, we’ll be doing it again VERY soon! It was such the perfect anthem for closing out such an awesome morning. “We are the kingdom of God/We are army of love/we carry truth to the world/we are the kingdom of God”!!!!

Alright, that was our morning!

If you’re a part of Life Church, what was YOUR favorite part of the morning? If you’re not…tell me about your morning!
